With each new year comes new resolutions, and they while can range from selfish (buy more clothes!) to selfless (do more charity work!), the most common one is, and always will be, to diet and exercise. And that ALSO means to stay away from junk food and fast food - just ask Gwyneth! But don’t worry, it’s not just you… even sexy celebs have been known to treat themselves to delicious goodies every now and then. Can’t do it 24/7 though! So are you up for the challenge?!?

X17 REWIND: Britney’s Breakdown

2008 did NOT start out great for our girl Brit. In fact, the beginning of January started with a standoff at her house and ended with a three-day manic episode that resulted in Brit’s hospitalization. Here’s a quick recap of those scary three days: Monday, 1/28/08

5:43 PM: Britney is seen getting in a fight with her friend Sam Lutfi - a fight which leaves her walking around the Summit weeping openly.

8:30 PM: Britney’s parents arrive at the Summit to console their distraught daughter.

10:00 PM: Britney goes out with Adnan Ghalib - but ends up getting in another fight, dragging her paparazzi paramour into the bathroom and screaming bloody murder at him. Adnan drives Britney straight home as soon as the couple emerges.

Tuesday, 1/29/08

1:00 AM: Britney, her mother, Sam, and Sam’s friend Chad Hardcastle all run out to Long’s Drug Store, declining to answer any of the paps’ questions about the night’s events.

Around 10:00 AM: Britney is spotted at a Beverly Hills Mercedes dealership with her mother Lynne. Soon afterwards, we catch her out test-driving a SLK350 alone, seemingly in good spirits. Britney laughs off questions about Sam Lutfi’s whereabouts, saying that she’s “left him behind”. Adnan’s name, however, gets a rise out of her - when we ask about him, she gets visibly distressed!

Noon: Britney and Lynne meet Sam for lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Early afternoon: Britney and Sam stop by the J. Crew store in Century City Mall - with Britney baring her bosom in a scandalously see-through dress! Again, she seems to be in a good mood - possibly because, as she told us, she had a telephone visit with her kids scheduled for later that day!

Late afternoon: After coming home to the Summit from the mall and changing (well, sorta - she put her top on inside-out and backwards), Britney hits the road again. Unfortunately, Britney gets lost coming from her house, nearly running off the road in the process. She eventually enlists a helpful pap to escort her home.

Late night: Britney is spotted entering and exiting the Beverly Hills Hotel with Sam and mutual friend Chad Hardcastle with a copy of Blackout in her hand, smiling and laughing the whole time.

Wednesday, 1/30

Early morning: Britney, Sam, and Chad Hardcastle are all spotted stopping by Rite Aid, where the crew picks up tea and laxatives. While in the parking lot, Britney tells a pap that her new Mercedes is “just a rental”. Shortly thereafter, the party stops at a gas station - where Britney buys a whole case of Red Bull!

Around 4:00 AM: The party returns to the Beverly Hills Hotel again.

Around 6:00 AM: Britney is spotted in the Pacific Coast Highway area, riding shotgun as Sam drove her home.

6:45 AM: Sam’s car suddenly pulls to the side of the road on Coldwater Canyon - and a screaming match breaks out! Britney - in full British accent - rips off her wig and starts ripping into Sam, demanding to be allowed to drive. Despite Sam’s objections, he eventually relents, reluctantly ceding the driver’s seat to Britney, who drives the car the rest of the short distance back to her house.

11:30 AM: Britney leaves her home for an aimless solo drive before quickly returning home.

12:30 PM: Britney leaves her home again for a lunch date with Adnan at Jerry’s Famous Deli.

2 PM: Britney and Adnan attempt to leave the restaurant in Britney’s car. Initially, Adnan drove, but after a few minutes (seemingly at Britney’s request), he pulled over to let Britney take the wheel.

4 PM: Britney & Adnan visit Alli at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

8 PM: Britney & Adnan return to the Summit to meet with Brit’s psychiatrist. Shortly thereafter, the psychiatrist calls in the 5150 order and Brit is taken back to the UCLA Medical Center.

Britney was held at the psych ward of the UCLA Medical Center for a week before she was released into the care of her father. Jamie was subsequently appointed her conservator, a position he holds to this day. It’s kind of scary to look back on that time, but we’re so glad she’s doing so well now!

Lindsay Lohan congratulates Britney Spears

Although much of the world’s media brought out the negative aspects of Britney Spears’ public meltdown earlier this year, not everyone is only seeing the down side. Another celebrity who is not a stranger to scandal and blazing headlines, Lindsay Lohan congratulates Britney for getting through her dark times and for still remaining true to herself. Over on Lindsay’s MySpace page, she wrote this about Brit:

“i feel like Britney Spears is an amazing talent, and she has gone through a lot, (just as i have) in the public eye.. which is not necessarily a bad thing.. It teaches young girls and boys that there are certain things in life that you should not let get in the way of your dreams and accomplishments. also that you need to take care of yourself before anyone else, and i mean anyone and everyone else. because at the end of the day, you have to look at yourself in the mirror and see who you really are. stripped of all the distractions in life.”

Not only that, Lindsay also wants people to listen to Britney’s “Circus” album - it’s great to have a celebrity endorsement!

What A Difference A Year Makes…

2007 and early 2008 marked a crazy time period in Britney Spears’ life - with late night car chases, meltdowns and all sorts of erratic behavior (and outfits) we weren’t sure what to expect next. However, after two stints in the psych ward, a few vacations, long hours at the recording studio and countless dance rehearsals, it looks like it’s all coming back to her, and we’re thrilled that the pop princess has reclaimed her throne. Will it keep getting better for Brit, or do you think things will fall apart again?

After Lindsay blogged about her father’s alleged infidelity to her mom Dina and the possible half-sister that resulted from the supposed affair, Michael Lohan has a few choice words for his daughter, but most of all, for her daughter’s g-friend Samantha … Michael Lohan had already told X17online that the woman, Christy Horn, with whom he had a brief relationship years ago when he and his ex-wife Dina were separated, refused to meet with him to allow for a proper DNA test to determine the paternity of Ashley, the daughter Ms. Horn claims is Michael’s. But now Lindsay’s blogging about the alleged paternity saying:

“my father just let my family and i know, amongst others that he had another child after my little sister Aliana, or maybe he had it before Aliana?? either way, he cheated on my mother and that really sucks …”

In response, Michael has this to say:

… It was Sam who wrote that because Lindsay knows everything.. Sam wants to create turmoil so Lindsay has reason not to come back to NY.. Not only regarding me, but her brothers and sister too. Now Sam has gone too far and if Dina lets this one fly. she really has a parenting ( suck up ) issue …”

And in similar words, another comment from Michael:

“That control freak and super parasite Samantha wrote that,just as she controls most , if not everything , Lindsay’s says and does. While most people see it , some of the evil lovers, love to feed the fire. Two questions, Where was Lindsay and her career before I was taken out of her life ( at the hieght of her career) by Dina’s family and entourage, … and what happened to Lindsay after I left her at Cirque Lodge (a time Samantha came back into Lindsay’s life) after destroying it prior to Cirque Lodge? Where was Lindsay when I was in her life and where when I was not? Make sense? What real work has Lindsay done since Sam? Maybe she should follow Britney or Drew’s paths and get rid of the darkness and come into the light..Where she was and belongs, Can you imagine her not coming home to her brothers and sister! =d she ever do that when Sam wasn’t in her life! My God..I pray for her…”

And here’s the kicker — Michael’s exclusive statement to X17online regarding the alleged fight that took place between Sam and Linds before Samantha was taken to the hospital on Sunday:

“Ask Samantha or her neighbors what happened at her house on Sunday night, and why did she have to go to the hospital? Drinking , drugs and a fight with Lindsay!!!!! Good , I hope Lindsay defended herself and kicked Sam’s disgusting manly ….! With all their public and not so private fighting, IS THIS A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP?
When is Lindsay going to see that this evil , controlling, misfit is the worst “THING” that ever came into her life.”
